To Bring Good News to the Afflicted and Bind Up the Brokenhearted

“To bring good news to the afflicted”: What is the “Good News” of which He speaks? Yes, “the Good News” is the Gospel of the Kingdom, but “good news to the afflicted” speaks of their release and their healing, physically and emotionally, as well as spiritually.

“To bind up the brokenhearted”. Here clearly, is the emotional healing – a healing from hurts, attacks, wounds of the soul, as well as the trauma of loss – loss of job, loss of a loved one, and especially loss of hope, the greatest heartbreak.

Gladly, throughout this portion of God’s Word, we find the scriptural and theological basis for both physical healing, and the healing and restoration of the soul, mind, and emotions.
