Our Security
Security
In the Life Breakthrough Workshops we did in the Fall of 2025, we dealt with fear, doubt and insecurity. My blog posts since the first of the year 2026, have been about faith and hope and trust in God.
In light of all this, my question to you today is this: where is your security?
· Security that you can live in safety
· Security that you will have enough money to meet your needs
· Security against making wrong decisions
· Security when the unexpected hits
· Security when you’re hurting that you won’t be hurt more
· Security in the face of threats
So I ask you to ask yourself in light of all this, where is your confidence?
In your bank account? In your job? In a relationship? Confidence in your own strength?
~ I think of the man who built his house on the Rock.
~ About needing to find “the Rock that is higher than I”.
Is our Trust in the Lord , in other things, or in ourselves?
Proverbs 3:5-6 in the New International Version says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
““Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.”
Matthew 7:24-29 NIV [https://bible.com/bible/111/mat.7.24-29.NIV]
“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.”
Psalms 61:1-4 NIV [https://bible.com/bible/111/psa.61.1-4.NIV]
AND THE ULTIMATE SCRIPTURE IN THE WORD OF GOD…..
Psalm 23
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
Psalms 23:1-6 NKJV [https://bible.com/bible/114/psa.23.1-6.NKJV]
The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” – Psalm 121:7-8
“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” – Isaiah 58:11
BUT…WHAT WE CAN’T OVERLOOK IN ALL THIS: OUR ULTIMATE SECURITY
“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
John 5:12-13 [New King James Version]
