Soul Realm / Spirit Realm Prayer
Soul Realm / Spirit Realm Prayer
When it comes to Prayer, here are some thoughts I’d like to share with you. What I’m talking about here is mainly intercessory prayer, but it also applies when praying for someone or something with a specific focus.
In 1 Corinthians 14:15 the Apostle Paul says, (as translated in the KJV) “What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also.” In different translations, the word “with” is sometimes translated “in”, but I think the meaning is basically the same.
My question is this: Can we be open to Holy Spirit-led intercessory prayer, beginning with the actual direction the prayer takes, then allowing Him to guide our words and literally “direct the path” of the words themselves?
~ This is Spirit-inspired, Spirit-breathed prayer: Holy Spirit WORDED prayer, versus “praying with my understanding” only (emphasis on “my”), as Paul states.
~ We are talking about Holy Spirit empowered, ANOINTED DUNAMOS prayer.
Before you begin to pray in intercession, ask God how He wants you to pray. Say, “Lord, what is your heart in this matter?” If we don’t ask God how He wants us to pray; if we don’t ask or be open to what Heaven has to say about the subject, then we can be prone to pray purely in our own understanding. That might be perfectly fine, and we know God hears and answers prayers (regardless of how they are uttered), but praying “in our own understanding” can leave us open to our own bias, opinion, or preconceptions about the issue at hand.
Truly, the Holy Spirit has to inspire this, and it can’t be manufactured on our own. We may not be used to this kind of prayer, and therefore may never have realized that we are able to pray this way, but now may be the time to enter into it.
“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” 1 John 5:14-15 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/
For specific prayer requests, how can we be sure we are praying according to His will if we don’t ask? That’s also where Romans 8:26 kicks in. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide your prayers by explicitly asking Him to do so, and see what happens!
My prayer for you is that you reflect on this; ask God what he has to say about the subject; go the Word and sit before God with it yourself; and be open to His power, His direction, and HIS anointing in your prayers of intercession. Amen? …Amen
